The association

Die Projekte sind international, interuniversitär und interdisziplinär angelegt und versuchen, in verschiedenen, aufeinander bezogenen Themenbereichen die Auswirkungen der Transformationsprozesse insbesondere auf Bayern kritisch zu beleuchten. Zielsetzung ist es, neben einer engen Vernetzung der (bayerischen) Osteuropaforschung, Grundlagen für konkrete wirtschafts-, sozial- und kulturpolitische Empfehlungen zu schaffen. forost ist Mitglied von abayfor und baut im Zuge seiner inhaltlichen Arbeit Beziehungen zwischen den beteiligten inner- und außeruniversitären Instituten wie auch zu diversen ost- und südosteuropäischen Forschungsinstitutionen auf.
